When I sarted back to look for a good server, one of the main points was to be in an offshore jurisdiction. Finally I ended at CCI Panama hosting.

72h after completing the payement, the server was up. I get a bit dissapointed, but anyway, it was on the terms agreement that I accepted.

One of the funny things was the moment to add the first domain into the account. Usually, you type it on your control panel… and that’s all. Well, with CCI Panama hosting you have to contact their support department and tell about that, so they can fix DNS records. To anyone that has ever registered a domain, this is a really freak way to do things.

So, I upgraded to a Virtual Private Server, after speaking with sales department and understand that the domain trick was not needed anymore… which was a complete mistake. Again I had to send a support ticket in order to them to ‘activate’ my new domain. The only different thing is that I got two answers. The first was “why do you send this message to us?”, and the second, after explain the situation, was “you have two accounts with us, tell us wich is the good one”.

And so I decided to move. And after some research using my previous notes, I decided for Shinjuru. I’ve sent a pre-sale enquiry and had my answer by the hour. Then I’ve smoothly signed up, and in 30 minutes had my server up and running. 30 minutes more uploading my backups, and here we are, online again.

Their basic plan is almost same price as a normal hosting plan, but now I have my websites in a Singaporean server, with all its advantages. And they also offer VPS plans, where you can install 3rd party software solutions, as I was talking some days ago.

For now I can not review their support system, but I hope not having to do it. Really, I think I did a great buy!
